Why the Horse Is the Heart of Circus

You’ll spot a horse in the details. Stamped on our packaging, scattered across our social, and woven subtly through our site. But why a horse? Why not something flashier?

Because for us, the horse isn’t decoration it’s legacy. It carries family history, motion, and meaning across generations.

A Champion Named Carbon Copy

My grandfather, George Lee Lenox, was a Memphis investment banker and passionate horseman. In 1964, he acquired the black stallion Perfectionist’s Carbon Copy, the newly crowned Tennessee Walking Horse World Grand Champion, and later a renowned sire in the circuit. Their partnership wasn’t just successful, it was legendary. Carbon Copy became known for his show-stopping presence and deep bond with my grandfather.

Elvis Presley and Priscilla were frequent visitors to the Lenox stables, drawn by the stallion’s beauty and my grandfather’s hospitality. Later, my father would work at Graceland during high school, linking our family to a cultural icon in motion.

Loss, Legacy, and History

Tragically, my grandfather’s life was cut short by violence. He was shot and killed - a loss that reverberated through our family and shaped what legacy means to me. While public records confirm the incident, much of its emotional weight remains in memory rather than legal archives. Regardless, the gravity of that loss sculpted the values I bring to this brand: beauty intertwined with history, presence built from grief, and endurance that moves forward.

My Own Ride with Horses

Hearing stories from my dad and others about that barn, about Carbon Copy, and about what it meant to ride - it isn’t about nostalgia. It’s education. Horses taught me how presence works, how to carry yourself with intention, how strength can feel gentle, how tension can be elegant.

The horse isn’t about fantasy. It represents realness - movement that’s muscular and unposed, lineage that’s tactile and electric.

Why the Horse Became Our Mascot

The horse isn’t just branding, it’s ancestral storytelling. A living signifier of motion, memory, and inherited resilience.

It signals that this brand is rooted not just in style, but in history. That pain formed motion. That beauty isn’t superficial.

The horse isn't just our emblem. It runs with us.
