Circus Puts the Spectacle in Self-Care

Self-care has been boxed into a single aesthetic: herbal tea, skincare routines, bed rotting, and the obligatory “Sunday reset.” Don’t get me wrong - I love a night in with a book, wasting time on TikTok, or spending two hours on a face routine. But somewhere along the way, self-care became synonymous with “health.”

But isn’t health more holistic? Isn’t it healthy to escape, to find yourself in ways that don’t come in the form of vitamins or supplements?

For me, some of my favorite and most inspiring moments haven’t been quiet at all. They’ve been activities like being high as a kite, blasting music, laughing until I cry with friends, and dancing around my living room. That rush - messy, sweaty, fully alive - is as much self-care as eight hours of sleep. I even remember a concert recently that sent me home so charged with energy it inspired the next Circus photoshoot. Isn’t that self-care?

At Circus, we put the spectacle into self-care. Our candles aren’t designed to fade into the background. They’re luxury candles wrapped in couture skins and made to command attention. Lighting one isn’t just about ambience; it’s about ritual, expression, indulgence. A designer candle for your home that says self-care doesn’t always have to be quiet. It can be sexy, unruly, playful. It can be a spectacle.

Because sometimes self-care is rest. And sometimes it’s turning the music up, pouring another drink, or saying yes to excess. With Circus, care isn’t always calm - it’s bold, it’s indulgent, it’s yours. Whatever way feels right.
